People often ask me the question “How does hypnotherapy work?”
The best explanation I can offer is, that it works by relaxing the body to the extent that you feel as if you’re just about to fall asleep.
But unlike sleep, in hypnosis, the unconscious part of your mind remains alert and open to suggestion.
By accessing the unconscious mind directly, a skilled hypnotist can plant suggestions that take root without the conscious mind putting limits and restrictions upon them.
Often we have thoughts and behaviors that we have no idea where they came from, these are often the result of long held negative beliefs on a deeply unconscious level.
Hypnotherapy can help by getting to the root of the problem by replacing negative beliefs with more positive and beneficial thoughts and behaviors.
When under hypnosis you will be fully aware of all that is going on around you but will have no inclination to leave the hypnotic state, as it’s such a wonderful feeling to be so very relaxed.
The results will depend upon the length of time you have had the problem, what type of problem it is and how motivated you are to change your negative beliefs.
Perhaps you’ve tried many things before considering hypnosis to resolve your problem, maybe you even see hypnotherapy as ‘the last resort’?
